But if you look at it from a practical side, a good infrared lamp is actually a secret weapon for fighting moisture. It’s not just about feeling warm. How it actually works
Here’s the thing: most heaters just warm up the air. That’s fine, but it doesn’t do much for the damp walls. Our lamps use shortwave infrared radiation. Instead of heating the air, the energy goes straight into your tiles, the grout, and the ceiling. It makes those surfaces warm to the touch. When your walls are warmer than the steamy air in the room, water can’t settle. No condensation means no puddles, and no puddles means mold spores have nothing to eat. Simple as that.
Built for the steam
Bathrooms are tough on electronics. Between the splashes and the thick steam, things break. That’s why we use an IP55 rating. In plain English? It means the housing is sealed tight against dust and can handle water jets hitting it from any angle. We also use quartz glass for the bulbs. It’s tough stuff that won’t crack when it goes from cold to scorching hot in a few seconds.
A few things to watch out for
If you’ve already got ceiling grids, these usually drop right in where your old heat lamps were. It’s a pretty easy swap. But a heads-up: these things put outintenseheat. If you mount them too low or too close to something, you might accidentally scorch your paint or melt a plastic fixture. Also, check your wiring. Halogen filaments pull a lot of power the second you flip the switch. You’ll want to make sure your circuit can handle that initial surge so you aren’t constantly tripping your breakers. It’s a much easier way to keep the room dry, and it takes a huge load off your exhaust fan.
