Here is the truth about third-party infrared lamps: just matching the wattage isn’t enough. If you throw a generic lamp into a Sidel Matrix, you’re asking for trouble. You’ll probably end up with uneven heating or a temperature shift that messes up your bottle wall distribution. It’s frustrating, and it wastes material. That’s why we build our lamps to match the original benchmarks exactly.
The science behind the heat
We don’t just guess. We spec our filaments to hit the same voltage and wattage density as the factory lamps. When we say it’s a 1:1 match, we’re talking about the spectral output. Basically, the infrared radiation hits the PET preform with the same intensity as the original part. We spend a lot of time on the resistive wire’s diameter and the coil pitch. Why? Because we want the heat flux to be steady across the whole tube. No “hot spots” that burn the PET. No “cold spots” that leave you with that annoying pearlescence. Just clean, consistent heat.
No fuss installation
These are true drop-in replacements. We kept the same footprint and connector layouts, so you can just wire them up and go. You won’t have to mess around with the oven housing or “make it fit.” We use high-transmission quartz glass, and if the original spec calls for short-wave reflection, we’ve got the coatings covered.
A quick word on heat density
Pushing high wattage through a small tube creates a ton of heat. It’s what allows those high-speed blowing cycles, but it’s also tough on the lamp ends. Check your forced-air cooling. If your blowers are clogged with dust or grime, any lamp—ours or the OEM version—is going to burn out at the seal. It’s just physics. We give you the electrical specs. You pop them in.
