If you’re running KHS or Sidel Combi SF300 machines, you know the headache of “cold spots.” It’s frustrating. You get uneven stretching, the wall thickness is all over the place, and suddenly you’re wasting preforms. We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out why this happens. It usually comes down to how the heat is actually hitting the plastic. That’s why we redesigned our replacement lamps—we focused on the actual footprint of the heating element to make sure the heat goes exactly where it needs to. Let’s talk power. The SF300 is picky. It needs a very specific balance of voltage and wattage to keep the oven stable. When we build these tubes, we obsess over the wattage-per-centimeter. High wattage is great because it lets you run faster cycles. But there’s a catch: it puts a lot of stress on the quartz glass. If your power supplies aren’t tuned to the exact voltage of the lamp, you’re just asking for a premature burnout. It’s a delicate balance. The build quality We use heavy-wall quartz glass because these things take a beating from rapid heating and cooling. We also use a halogen cycle, which basically stops the tungsten filament from evaporating too fast. As for the fit? It’s simple. Whether you have R7s or Sk15 connectors, these are drop-in replacements. No rewiring, no tinkering, no one swearing at a manual for three hours. You just pop them in and go. A few real-world tips Our lamps are designed to match or even beat the original OEM parts. The best part is you won’t spend your entire shift constantly tweaking the oven temperature. But here is the thing: more heat means your cooling fans have to actually work. If your airflow is blocked by dust or grime, these high-output lamps will practically bake your reflectors. That’ll kill your whole heating assembly way faster than it should. Do yourself a favor: every time you swap a tube, give the reflector mirrors a quick check. Keep them clean, and you’ll get the most out of the infrared reflection.
