Usually, it happens because the lamps are getting old and developing “cold spots,” or someone swapped in a replacement that doesn’t actually match the heat pattern the machine needs. Here’s the thing: just matching the wattage isn’t enough. If the infrared spectrum is off, your heat won’t be even, and your bottles will show it. The nitty-gritty on heat We build our IR lamps to keep the heat steady and linear. When you’re picking a replacement for your KHS setup, you’ve got to make sure the voltage and wattage play nice with your power supply. If they don’t, you’re just asking for a premature burnout. Now, high-wattage quartz tubes are great because they push energy into a tight beam. That means more heat density and faster cycle times. But there’s a catch.
