The Nitty-Gritty of the Build
To hit that IP55 mark, we had to rethink the hardware. We use high-temp gaskets and sealed cable entries to keep the dust and water jets out. But the real trick is the shielding. We protect the infrared lamps so water droplets can’t hit the hot quartz glass. A Quick Word on Installation
Here’s the catch. When you seal a heater this tightly to keep water out, heat gets trapped inside the chassis more easily than it would in an open-frame model. Because of that, you can’t just cram these into a tiny, suffocated ceiling void. You need to give the external heat sinks some breathing room. If they can’t “breathe,” the thermal cutoff will kick in and shut the unit down just to keep it from overheating. Give it a little space, and it’ll work perfectly.
